Discover our Healthy Ageing Blend

The core nutrition we all need – but too often miss out on.

As well as targeted support for your health goal, almost all Prime Fifty supplements also include our Healthy Ageing Blend – an extra layer of support that builds a strong foundation for your health as you age.

We’ve included 10 core nutrients that are either often low in UK over-50 diets, according to the data, or are so biologically important that even a mild shortfall can quietly chip away at your long-term health. According to the UK National Diet and Nutrition Survey, up to 85 percent of people are failing to reach the recommended daily allowance (RDA) across some important vitamins and minerals.

Vitamin D for bones, muscles and immunity

Many people in the UK have low vitamin D intakes and so low blood levels, and it’s especially true in older adults. As we age, our skin also becomes less efficient at making vitamin D from sunlight. Yet vitamin D is essential for bone health, muscle function and normal immune defence.

It’s also one of the few nutrients that has been shown in clinical studies to reduce the risk of falls in people over 65, which can be pivotal for maintaining confidence and independence. That is why we include vitamin D in every formula, and we provide it at four times the daily recommendation.

The B vitamin trio for heart and brain

Vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folate (vitamin B9) work together to manage homocysteine, a naturally occurring amino acid in the blood. If homocysteine rises too high, it is associated with higher cardiovascular risk and increased inflammatory stress.

We don’t always get ideal amounts of B vitamins from our diets, and later in life, our ability to absorb vitamin B12 can decline. If B6, B12 or folate are insufficient, homocysteine can build up. By taking all three together, you’re supporting the body’s methylation pathways and helping to keep homocysteine under control, a quietly important part of protecting your long-term heart and brain health.

Zinc for resilience

UK diet data show that a significant proportion of over-50s are well short of recommended zinc intakes. But Zinc is involved in hundreds of biological reactions. It supports immune function, contributes to normal vision, helps maintain skin, hair and nails, and plays a role in bone health and muscle repair. When we talk about resilience as we age, and the ability to repair, recover and resist illness, zinc is at the heart of that. UK diet data show that a significant proportion of over-50s are well short of recommended zinc intakes, and we can’t take the risk.

Vitamin E and selenium for antioxidant protection

A key part of healthy ageing is also keeping ‘oxidative stress’ under control. Oxidation is a normal process, but when it becomes excessive and unchecked, it can drive unhealthy inflammation. Chronic low-grade inflammation is one of the recognised hallmarks of ageing. That is why we include antioxidant nutrients, including vitamin E and selenium, in every formula.

Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative damage, particularly within cell membranes, while selenium supports antioxidant enzyme systems that help neutralise damaging free radicals. This isn’t just anti-ageing hype; this supports the body’s own defence systems so that oxidative stress doesn’t tip over into long-term inflammation.

Vitamin C for collagen formation

Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant, helping to protect cells from damage, but has other benefits that often get overlooked. It also improves the absorption of iron, which matters for energy and oxygen delivery. It’s also essential for making collagen. Collagen is not just about skin, though. It’s a structural protein found throughout the whole body, including in blood vessels and joints. As we age, maintaining healthy collagen becomes part of maintaining healthy structure, flexibility and repair.

BioPerine® for absorption support

Nutrition is not just about what you take, it’s about what your body can actually use. Digestion and absorption becomes less efficient as we age, and that can affect how efficiently we extract vitamins and minerals from both food and supplements. That is why we include BioPerine®, a patented black pepper extract that has been shown to enhance the bioavailability of a range of nutrients. It helps the ageing gut make better use of each supplement.

L-methylfolate for cell renewal and DNA repair

Folic acid, or vitamin B9, is vital for our health in many different ways, including cell renewal, DNA repair, gene regulation, and methylation, all of which are important for healthy ageing. But many people carry common genetic variations that make it harder to convert folic acid into the active form the body actually uses. So the Healthy Ageing Blend includes an effective level in its active L-methylfolate form to ensure consistent support for this critical pathway.

You’ll find the Healthy Ageing Blend in every Prime Fifty supplement except for Collagen, Beauty Glow Gummies and Omega 3.

So you won’t just be taking a supplement that delivers specialised support for your joints, cognition, or energy. You’ll also be taking care of the bigger picture, with important ingredients that support and influence how well you age.
