Hey, Einstein! Quit Weighing Yourself!

What if you weighed yourself on a set of accurate scales and they said you weighed 500 lbs. and you looked like a goddess (stud) and were completely healthy?  What would you do?

QUIT WEIGHING YOURSELF!!!!!  Or at least weight yourself once every 6 weeks.  It’s not your weight that is important.  It’s your body composition.  It’s all about your percent body fat and your percent lean tissue.  If your percent body fat is 25% then your percent lean tissue is ………….. 75%.  Do the math, really simple math.

The “ideal” percentages for body fat vary by age and sex primarily.  See below:

Women

Age Underfat Healthy Range Overweight Obese
20-40 yrs Under 21% 21-33% 33-39% Over 39%
41-60 yrs Under 23% 23-35% 35-40% Over 40%
61-79 yrs Under 24% 24-36% 36-42% Over 42%

Men

Age Underfat Healthy Range Overweight Obese
20-40 yrs Under 8% 8-19% 19-25% Over 25%
41-60 yrs Under 11% 11-22% 22-27% Over 27%
61-79 yrs Under 13% 13-25% 25-30% Over 30%

With a few measurements ANY personal trainer worth anything can give you your body fat percentage.
